Ride for the Roses

Dow Benelux maintains a close relationship with the neighborhood. We have an active donation policy, for example. That way, we contribute to local and regional projects that sustainably improve the quality of the living environment. In doing this, we place emphases on nature and the environment, education, innovation and inclusion.

Annually, we participate in this unique cycling event. On Saturday, June 15, 2019, 200 Dow colleagues participated in the charity event Ride for the Roses Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. A unique cycling event dedicated to KWF Cancer Relief. More than 3,000 participants and donors raised a record amount of €151,288 for the Dutch foundation dedicated to fighting cancer.

Impressive event
Neldes Hovestad, former site leader Terneuzen: “It's such an impressive event. I got goosebumps when I heard the song “The Rose” (the anthem of this event) at the market in Terneuzen. The market was full of people participating in this event. I am proud that we can do our part in this unique cycling event that focuses on important values for our organization, like regional communities, philanthropy, team spirit, volunteerism and sports.”
